Today I went to visit my momma in the hospital (going on 5 weeks now) and decided to give her a manicure. Being in the hospital that long can really alter our God given looks; especially when at least 3 of those weeks you are immobile. Weeeell needless to say my momma hasn't been the foxy lady I have been used to. I have been looking forward to the day when I can come in and do a little something to jazz her up. Today I decided to give her a manicure! I bought a manicure kit & Sally Hansen's Salon Effects in Bling it on (a pretty glitter pink) and did my nail shop thing. I soaked her hands in warm soapy water, used the nail brush to scrub off the dry skin, trimmed her nails and cuticles, shaped her nails, put on the Salon Effects (the smell of nail polish would have irritated momma), and then massaged her hands with oil. Her hands looked 100% better. :O)She really appreciated this little pamper party. Her next pamper day will be her hair. Doing this for my momma made me think about when Christiana gets older and we can have our mommy/daughter days. As a matter of fact we can even have mommy/nana/Christiana pamper days. When I was a child I enjoyed hanging out with my mother. We didn't have too many mommy/daughter pamper days (single mom with 3 kids), but just hanging with her at the foot of her bed was enough for me. I think all mothers and daughters should have girls day out or even moments when they can bond with one another.
Deuteronomy 5:16
"Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
