As Christiana gets closer to the big 1 year old we have been trying to introduce her to new foods. This hasn't been super successful but we continue to try. I've come to the conclusion that she loves junkie carbs - Munchie crunchies, crackers, toasted bread, rice. Where are the nutrient rich foods? Well I guess you can count pinto beans as a nutrient rich food.
Anyhoo, Christiana has been introduced to a few more foods, auntie Shelley's homemade biscuits, scrambled egg yolks, and earth's best fruit smoothie (apple blueberry with yogurt). Now Christiana doesn't like just any biscuits; I went to Roscoe's chicken & waffles the other day & ordered her a biscuit and she wouldn't eat it. The biscuit wasn't fresh so i wouldn't eat it either (note to self: Christiana likes fresh food). The same goes for eggs, they have to be warm. Again I wouldn't eat cold eggs, so why would I expect her to eat them. :0) Now for the fruit smoothie, that depended on the day. She liked her smoothie ice cold & given to her in very small portions. I've learned that she is very particular about textures; super mushy foods are a no go (again I don't blame her). Good job baby!
As Christiana is exploring new foods, my momma is "exploring" new foods as well. She has been off the ventilator for about 2 weeks now (3 weeks with a tube down her throat) and passed the swallowing test, so she has been put on a liquid diet (no more tube feeds); praise God!! Good job momma!
