Bubbles, bubbles: Planning for a 2 years celebration

I truly love party planning and for the past 6 months I've been planning for Christiana's 2nd birthday party.  This year we're not going all out, but she will have a simple yet fun party.  We decided that this year, we'll make it a small family style party and that every other year go all out.  I want her to have some sort of party every year until she says she no longer wants one.  :O)

The theme for this year will be bubbles.  That's a pretty easy party to plan, right? I love pinterest and Oopsie Daisy Blog!  I got some really great ideas, especially from Oopsie Daisy.

So here's the rundown of what I have so far.
  • Location:  It will be a my mother's house; we'll be able save big time

  • Invitations: Like last year I made my own.  I took an idea from another mommy blogger and made my own  I ended up emailing them, I took waaaay too long to mail.

my version

  • Colors: fuschia, purple, light pink

  • Outfit: Of course Christiana is going to wear a tutu!  It will have the number 2 instead of the rabbit ears.   This year she will be rocking her tutu with purple rainboots!!!The Makayla Oh So Bright Easter Bunny Tutu Set- Includes, tutu, onise, bunny ears, and bow

  • Food:
    • Mexican.  I was going to make everything, but opted to have it catered.  My co-worker referred someone that was uber cheap!  She will come over an hour early to prepare the food, provide holders for all the food all for less than $150!!  We probably would have been spending that if not more, so why stress myself out!  Sooo we'll be serving beef & chicken tacos, rice, beans, chips, and with all the fixings!

  • Sweets:
    • I will be ordering a bubbled theme cake from Angel Maid bakery.  I'll be going there this week with a picture so they can make it.

    • Also I'll be having a "foods that pop" themed sweets table.  With items such as cake "pops", snap, crackle "pop" rice krispie treats, tootsie "pops", blow "pops", ring "pops", maybe "pop" rocks

  • Entertainment:
    • Bubble blower
    • Kiddie pool filled with bubble solution with hula hoops (for those jumbo bubbles)
    • Make your own bubble wand station - pipe cleaners
    • Station with different household items for bubble wands
    • Bubble wrap cake walk- They jumped on bubble wrap with colored paper underneath. Once the music stopped, the child on the color selected got a sticker!

    • Goodie bags: I am going to give every child their own bubble wand, that way parents won't have to blow bubbles for them.

That's all for now!

I think that's enough
