This weekend Christiana & I had some girl time while daddy Teems had some work time.
- Friday night: We went shopping! Christiana got 2 new outfits & a cute pair of shoes. Oh and I bought myself 2 pairs of flats (they were on sale and I don't have many flats). It seems like I no longer shop for myself (weeell not as much) but I shop for Christiana.
- Saturday: We didn't go out anywhere, but we did a lot of reading, cleaning (she sort of sings the clean up song & puts things away!), dancing, and I did my hair. While I was blow drying my hair she would walk really fast back & forth by the bathroom or she would sit outside of the bathroom. Every now & then she would stop in front of the bathroom door to see what I was doing but only for a minute. When the blow dryer was off Christiana would come into the bathroom and hang out with mommy until I turn the dryer back on then she would hop up and zoom out of the bathroom. Hahahaha! Then the cycle would start up again. I just love to hear the pitter patter of her little feet.
- Sunday: We took a little walk to Roscoe's House of Chicken & Waffle and had breakfast (YUM!) She's becoming a little social butterfly because she was more concerned with all the other little kids than eating. Munchie wanted to walk around to their tables or just stare at them eating. I couldn't have her walking around disturbing other people, so what did mommy do? Mommy gave her a chicken wing & that kept her occupied for a little while (and it gave me an opportunity to finish my food). After breakfast we went to get some snacks for our play date with Auntie Jaimie & cousin Daniel. Christiana just loves grapes & strawberries. Anyhoo after our store stop we went to the Festival of Books and the California Science Center. My baby girl loves books so this was right up her alley. Unfortunately she was sleep the first half of the festival, but once she woke up she wanted to get out of her stroller & roam free. I love play dates! It gives Christiana an opportunity to get to know her cousins and gives me an opportunity to catch up with my sister friends. We ended our play date with Chipotle and Coldstone ice cream. Oh I forgot to mention that Christiana wanted to play with the air rats (Pigeons)! YUUUUK!!
Proverbs 27:9
“The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense.”
- While we were at the Festival of Books a mother lost her 3 year old son for a few minutes. :O( It was horrible!! I cannot even imagine how scared she was! I mean she had quite a few people looking for him and of course you had those people that stood around and watched. Jaimie & I looked around, but in our area because we had to watch our own babies. We were switching off how we would look for that little boy. Eventually they found him at another booth, but it was still a scary situation. MAN again I couldn't imagine going through that & it made me realize how easy it is for a child to get lost at a large venue like that and how we need to keep a close eye on our babies. Note to self: Purchase a kid leash!
This weekend reminded me that I need to catch up with my momma for a grown up mommy & me day.
