I have like 3 unfinished posts, but I had to write about this right away. :O)
Last night Christiana ended up in timeout. Let me share why she ended up there. She was supposed to be sleep, but of course like any little one she didn't want to miss out on anything. Her normal bedtime is between 9 & 10 ( I know that's a bit late), but last night she decided that she wanted to go to bed after 11. Mind you she was suuuper tired, so at that time she was a bit delirious so by 11 I decided to let daddy Teems handle it.
Weeell he put her in timeout and she didn't even put up a fight! She stood against the door quietly. I tried my hardest not to let her see me smiling, but she was just toooo cute. While in timeout she was rocking back and forth and smiling at daddy Teems. She would try to inch over to him, he told her to go back to her spot and she did it. After about 2 minutes he told her that she was in timeout because she didn't listen and was she ready to listen and go to bed. Guess what? Munchie said yes and went right into the bed and fell asleep! MAN! That's why it's good to have a two parent household.
Before I had a child I wasn't an advocate of timeout, but it works. I think it isn't effective if the parent(s) are consistent and start it early. Hitting and yelling only makes kids think it's okay to hit and yell and I don't want Christiana thinking it's okay.
Proverbs 4:13
Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life.
