Now that mommy's baby girl is more comfortable walking, I am really looking forward to more mommy & me days. 2 weekends ago we went to the mall (you know for a little mommy & me time) and this little busy bee was trying to climb out of the stroller! So I let her get out of the stroller & she wanted to push the stroller herself and go through clothes; she even had the nerve to get upset when I put her back into the stroller. I realized that WALKING = MORE INDEPENDENCE! Since she has had a little taste of the world from a different view, she loves it. What does that mean for me? I can really enjoy our little outings. We can take little mommy & me field trips; now it may take a little longer to get around the but at least she'll be taking in the world from her perspective and learning in the process (exposure to different things is key). I remember when I took her cousin Gio (my other child) to the museum around the same age & he LOVED it! He was OOOing & Ahhhing, pointing, & talking (in baby language of course). So I know when get out into the world, Christiana is going to LOVE it!
Last Friday I got out of work early & decided to spend it with my momma. Since she has been home from rehab she hasn't really had any real outings. I took her to get her eyebrows done & had lunch at Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles. It was good hanging out with her & I know she enjoyed it herself (she can't get out much). Everyone likes to be taken out and have things done for them, so this was my treat to her. She has done so much for me, it's the least I can do. I told her that I will try to take her somewhere at least once a month. Back in the day my mom used to enjoy getting dressed up & going out to eat and/or pamper herself and I want to make sure that at least once a month so she can still get dolled up & enjoy herself (We don't have money like that, but we can do little girls days).
I want to instill family values like this for Christiana, which is why I truly cherish my mommy & me moments on both ends.
“Mama was my greatest teacher, a teacher of compassion, love and fearlessness. If love is sweet as a flower, then my mother is that sweet flower of love.”
Stevie Wonder

So glad your mom is doing better! Go Christi, with your walking self!
