Mommy's little ladybug: Her party was a sucess!

The superstar for the day!

Dessert table
Today was Christiana's first birthday party & it was great!  My six months of planning paid off.  Daddy Teems said that my planning rights have been revoked since I got stressed out.  Doesn't he understand that I wanted an awesome party and didn't expect any less?  Maybe not, but my rights will never be revoked. :O)  Although daddy Teems said I stressed myself and also stressed him out, I owe him the BIGGEST THANKS ever!  He could have opted for us to not have a party (especially since Christiana won't remember this party) and just have cake like we did on her actual birthday.  Daddy Teems knows how much Mommy Teems loves party planning and let me do my thing.  He listened to my ideas from the beginning of the journey all the way to the end (even though it didn't matter that much to him).  All he wanted to know was how much was it going to cost  (he gave me a budget and everything) and what did he need to carry. :O)

Anyhoo for the past two days and nights, I have been on planning overload.  Making sure all the decorations were complete (I actually forgot the leaves) and pacing myself while baking cake pops and brownies.  I must say a HUGE thank you to auntie Angel, Jaimie, Joy, Kowana, Shana & unc-key Ray for helping me.  I also cannot forget to thank big sister Amanah & my students!

Here's how they helped:

  • Auntie Angel made the rice krispie treats for the dessert table, gave me shopping & decorating advice, and the Golden family took Munchies gifts to their house since we didn't have the space in our cars
  • Auntie Jaimie came over the night before to help make the chocolate dipped pretzel sticks (she was here until 10pm), she let us drop all of our party supplies and her house the night before, she helped set up before the party,  we used her Carson address so we can have her party at a nice park, we spent an entire day looking for the right park, and the Hodge family took the picture wall to their house since we didn't have the space in our cars
  • Titi Joy flew in from Atlanta to come celebrate with her niece and hosted the games
  • Auntie Kowana came over the night before to help dip cake pops (she was here until 11pm), came over the week before to go shopping for game prizes, made sure I bought what I needed for the party instead of random things and wasting my money, lent me her vases, and put our Zumba on hold to help with party stuff, and helped throughout the party
  • Auntie Shana came over the morning of the party to finish the last minute things we didn't finish the night before, she said a prayer for me right after she saw me getting stressed, put most of the boxes & bags in the car while I got ready, and helped throughout the party
  • Unc-key Ray was our photographer for the day & he cut up vegi's before the party
  • Big sister Amanah she rolled the cake pops, baked the brownies, help with the decorations at the party site, and last but certainly not least kept her little sister busy while we worked our butts off last night
  • My students made allllll the decorations!  They've been coming in faithfully since we got back from the winter holiday.

Christiana did great at the party as well!  She didn't fuss or cry and she was awake the entire time...good job baby!
Smash cake from Angel Maid Bakery...delicious!

Unfortunately my momma wasn't able to make it to the party, but we did celebrate with her on Munchie's actual birthday.  I'll be glad when my momma is able to be out and about like she used to.

Yuuum!

Daddy's girls
Everyone that attended the party really enjoyed themselves! Yaaay! We didn't run out of food, drinks, or sweets; I would have rather had too much food than not enough.  They also participated in the arts and crafts, so everyone left with child decorated picture frame & a full belly.  Job well done!
